Turks of Central Anatolia and the Black Sea Coast

(an-uh-TOHL-yuh) - Emily is a young woman who recently started attending church. She went the first time on Easter Sunday and has been going most Sundays since then. Praise the Lord! She has told a believing friend many times that she loves coming to church and likes the atmosphere and how she feels while she is there. She is curious and has started reading the New Testament. Pray that the Lord will work in Emily's heart. Pray that she will continue to read and that she will repent and believe.

Summer Olympics 2024

Trading Olympic pins is a favorite pastime during the Olympics. The IMB team and partners will use three different evangelistic pin designs as they share the gospel. One will have a picture of a torch with the words "I am the light." Pray that these pins will be an effective tool to bring people out of darkness and into the light.

South Asian Unengaged Peoples

The Dayare are an unengaged, unreached people group who number about 1,800 and are located primarily in Tamil Nadu, India. Their name comes from the word "dayara," which means "a circle" and refers to how they live in an area that has a wall around the periphery of it. They are adherents of the Sunni sect of Islam and followers of Mehdi Mauvood, who taught people to "renounce the world." Please pray that God will be preparing people, even now, to go to the Dayare and share the truth of Christ with them. Ask that they will have dreams and visions of Jesus and seek answers to these dreams. Pray that one day, even though these people may still have boundaries around their communities, they will not be bound by those structures. Pray that, instead, they will obey the words of Christ when He said, "What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops" (Matthew 10:27 ESV).

Nubians of Northern Africa

(NOO-bee-ans) - The Nubian people have a long, rich history. There is archeological evidence of kings who ruled in the land of Nubia in 750 B.C. Ancient Nubians developed an alphabet and writing system in 200 B.C. Nubia was known as the land of Kush for 2,000 years. Today, Nubians have moved from their historical lands and are divided by geographical borders, living in capital cities, towns, or villages. Some feel marginalized and experience prejudice. Some are wealthy, holding influential positions, while others live in poverty. Pray for this ancient people, who were historically a Christian empire, to find their worth in Christ. Ask for them to be led to believers who can explain the gospel to them. Pray for the local church to embrace them in love.

Khmer of Western Cambodia

(kuh-MY) - High school students at a student outreach center in a local church had many opportunities to hear the gospel. Many expressed that they wanted to learn more about Jesus. Some responded that they want to follow Jesus but are afraid that they cannot because their family will not allow them. They are weighing the cost of following Jesus versus following the religion of their parents. Please pray for them to have conviction and courage to follow Christ. Please pray that believers have opportunities to reach their families, especially their parents, for Christ.

Jewish Diaspora Worldwide

(die-AS-puh-ruh) - Jewish people around the world are beginning to see that they need to turn to the God of the Bible for help. Much persecution has arisen over conflicts in the Middle East, and they see that only God can help them. Many are returning to the land of the Bible, thinking that will solve the problem, but don't realize that the Lord wants His people to turn to Him and to His Son for salvation. Not their might nor intelligence nor even their wonderful philanthropical attitudes and generosity will save them. Around the world, they are going to synagogues to pray and beg God for mercy and grace. He is happy to extend mercy and grace. Pray that they will happily give their lives to Him in faith and humility. One such family left the country they resided in to go to the ancient homeland. They were surprised that their troubles did not end there. They were angry instead of humble and told some believers what they were feeling. The believers began to share what they know is the hope of all the world: faith in Jesus. Pray for this family and countless others, as that's needed especially in these times.

Fulani of Western Niger

(foo-LAH-nee) - "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2 ESV). Pray for Western Niger Fulani believers who have received training and discipleship. Ask for those who are older to be patient teachers for younger believers. Petition for boldness and wisdom, as Fulani believers weigh the risk of being targeted each time they share about Jesus with someone. Pray for many Western Niger Fulani to hear and put their trust in Jesus because of the testimony of faithful witnesses.
