Yangon, Myanmar

(yan-GONG) - After serving the Lord in another part of the country, Ko Shwe and Ma Hla moved to Yangon a few months ago. Along with their two young children, they settled into a small apartment in a densely populated area of the city. Each day, they walk around their community, trying to meet people and engage them with the gospel. Pray that God will open doors to share the gospel with many in their community. Ask that God will give them wisdom as they seek the best ways to engage people and meet needs as a way to bridge to the gospel. Pray that God will give them strength and that they will begin to see the fruit of their labors.

Window City of North Africa

Lina grew up in a densely populated North African city. As a young woman, she had the opportunity to travel and be exposed to cultures outside of her own. She began to doubt the religion of her family and of her country and ultimately developed secular ideals. After encountering a group of believers, her heart has begun to soften to the truth of God's Word, and she is now reading Bible stories with believing women regularly. Please pray and ask God to reveal Himself to Lina and show her that Jesus Himself is "the way, and the truth, and the life" (John 14:6 ESV).

Missionaries ask: "How can we serve those who mourn? Some are mourning the loss of a child, or a parent, or a grandparent, or even a friend or neighbor. Some are mourning the loss of freedom in a country divided by war. What can we do on the mission field to serve those who are mourning? We can sit quietly with them in their time of grief, and when opportunity arises, we can share the hope we have within us. In Matthew 5:4 (ESV), Jesus says, 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.' Jesus is the one who comforts. Pray that we will have opportunities to introduce our neighbors, friends, and loved ones to the Comforter. Jesus is ready to give His comfort to all."

Pretoria, South Africa

(pri-TOR-ee-uh) - Although St. Patrick's Day is not celebrated in any form or fashion in South Africa, perhaps as you go about life in the United States this month, the conspicuous green shamrocks can remind you to pray for the people of Pretoria. According to The Voice of the Martyrs website, Patrick was a real person, born into a wealthy and religious family in the 4th century. However, like many people in Pretoria, his religion was for Sundays only. The Lord allowed in Patrick's life what we would deem a disaster! While on a family vacation at the beach, he was kidnapped and trafficked into slavery in a foreign country. But the Lord used this for Patrick's salvation! In his autobiography, Patrick wrote that "the Lord opened my senses to my unbelief" so that "I might turn to the Lord my God with all my heart." During his slavery, he wrote: "[I] would pray all the time, right through the day. More and more the love of God and fear of Him grew strong within me, and as my faith grew, so the Spirit became more and more active." Pray that similarly, the Lord will do whatever is necessary to bring Pretorians to Himself!

There are estimated to be 26,000 Iraqi Arabs of Lebanon, although due to the war in Lebanon, some who previously lived there may have gone back to Iraq. These Muslims in Lebanon have access to the Scriptures through the written Word and media, but their families are against them becoming believers in Jesus. Many may not have heard the truth of who Jesus really is and what His message of salvation truly says. Pray that they will hear. Intercede also for the Iraqi Arabs of Lebanon who are suffering from the social and economic upheaval that Lebanon has endured in the past months due to fighting in the country. Pray for shelter, for food, for work, and for schooling. Ask that through all the hardships, these Iraqi Arabs will meet believers in Jesus who will bring words of comfort and love from the Father in heaven.

Give thanks to God that three Muslim women in "Sekund" are reading stories from the Bible about Jesus with a believer! Please pray that these women will come to recognize Jesus as God and that they will repent and put their faith in Him for salvation.

Missionary Explorers, Project 3000

"I am going back to an area where I was previously asked to leave," missionary explorer Dean Missier said. "After receiving counsel from others, this seems to be the best option to find the people group I'm trying to reach. Because of this, I am going to try and get back into the place I just left, though not to the same exact region and not with the same ministry partner. It has been challenging to find someone who is willing and bold enough to go with me. Pray that God provides a partner who is not afraid to go with me to this place. Pray that God will send a gospel witness to this people group, even if it's not me."

East Canada Chinese Diaspora

Toronto's Chinatown is one of the largest in North America, filled with a diversity of culture, traditions and languages. According to the latest census by the Canadian government, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has a population of approximately 700,000 Chinese. Chinese immigrants bring with them diverse religious beliefs. In the GTA, there are Buddhist and Daoist temples along with Protestant and Catholic Chinese churches, oftentimes on the same street. The Chinese Christian population in the GTA is increasing, and Christian churches are available but there are not enough to handle the growing population. Missionaries are engaging the Chinese in the GTA with the saving message of the gospel. A new church is forming and reaching new Chinese immigrants. The Chinese are open to hearing and receiving the Word of God. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask God to prepare the hearts of many to hear about Jesus and for new believers to boldly share His good news with their family and friends.

Chinese in the United Kingdom

"Many Chinese from various parts of Asia have made the United Kingdom their home. Some have been here for many generations. Some are new immigrants from Hong Kong, and others are just passing through. While many Chinese are Christians, many are not yet followers of Christ. Some individual Chinese churches have pastors, but other churches share a pastor. The Chinese churches in the U.K. need help reaching today's youth and children in a world that opposes God. Additionally, with the influx of new immigrants and the many who are lost, church planting, equipping churches, and raising up workers is essential. As you can see, there are great needs among the Chinese people. Twelve U.S. pastors are coming on a vision trip to the U.K. in late March and will visit several cities. Please pray the pastors gain a heart and vision for the work in the U.K. May new relationships be formed and may future bridges of cooperation be made to reach the lost."

There are a growing number of Central Asians who look like prospective candidates to serve as laborers in the harvest in one particularly difficult-to-access region. Pray for wisdom in training, in partnering, and in placing them.

Azeris of Iran

(ah-ZEYR-ees) - For Persians, the new year begins in spring and is celebrated with a holiday called Nowruz, which means "New Day." This year, Nowruz falls on March 21. Since schools and offices are closed for the two-week holiday, many Persians (including Azeris) take this opportunity to travel. Pray that as they travel outside of their home country, they will meet Christians who are ready and willing to tell them about Jesus. Intercede especially for those who are already curious and seeking God. Ask that God will orchestrate encounters for them with authentic followers of Jesus. Pray that He will give many the faith to believe and receive new life in Christ.
