(OOZ-beks) - The Islamic month of Ramadan is being observed by Muslims all around the world right now, and they will be celebrating its end with sacrifices and feastings very soon. Please pray that the hope of Jesus will be made known in hearts that are seeking truth. Pray for believers to be bold in their witness and to show love and care to their Muslim neighbors during this time when people seem to be more open to spiritual conversations and meetings. Pray for those who will hear the gospel and make a choice to repent and believe.
(TOH-kyoh) - "Too many Japanese do not know the one true God. They are blinded and bound for eternity away from God. We need believers in Christ to be on their knees for these lost souls. Pray for the convicting work of the Holy Spirit to be upon their hearts. Pray for all those on the Tokyo Team as we share the good news to have boldness, opportunity, success, and favor. Pray for the university students that our Journeyman teammates will be around daily. Pray for whole Japanese families to come to Christ as the moms and dads on our team reach out to their neighbors and other parents at their children's school. Pray for each team member as we walk alongside our pastors and encourage them. Pray that Japanese Christians will be bold and have a heart to share the good news with all the people God puts in our path. Pray for many Japanese in Tokyo to open their hearts to the gospel and accept it as truth."
Within the geographical region encompassing 16 countries in West Africa, the extent of spiritual lostness is profound. Despite making up 4% of the population, evangelicalism is scarce in some areas, with figures as low as 0.2%. More than 444 million individuals are lost, lacking the hope of eternal life. Tragically, approximately 12,000 souls perish daily without knowing Christ as their Lord and Savior. West Africa urgently needs fervent prayer and the sending out of laborers to the harvest fields. Please pray for believers in West Africa. Pray for them to stand strong in their faith and to be bold witnesses to the lost around them. Ask the Lord of the harvest to call out workers, and pray for those workers to respond. Thank the Lord for those who are already boldly sharing the good news! Ask Him to give them the words to speak as they find their strength in Him.
http://www.imb.org/sub-saharan-africa/"Please pray for a team coming out of a local church in East Africa that will be going on a vision trip/mission trip to South Asia next month," workers write. "This is very, very exciting! Pray for all the logistics to work out. Intercede for God's 'divine path' on the land of South Asia that they will walk on and pray for. Pray that this will be the first of many trips! They are taking this trip to see what the land will look like so they will know how to minister in the future, like the men who were sent to 'scout out the land of Canaan' (Numbers 13:2 CSB)."
(RYN, RUE-er) - Rose is not a typical German woman. Although she is only in her 20s, she has been through a lifetime of difficulties. What makes her different is Jesus. She became a Christian two years ago and through the witness of a Christan community, counseling, and discipleship she has been able to forgive those in her past, accept God's love, and be free from anxiety. An IMB teammate has been discipling her for a year, emphasizing the importance of abiding in Christ through daily reading the Bible, listening to God, and applying the Word. Members in Rose's community are seeing the importance of abiding in Christ and are also becoming activated Christians. Pray that God will raise up more young adults like Rose, who are growing in their love for Jesus, the Bible, and activated for Him. Pray also for Rose as she continues to grow in Jesus and shares her faith.
Pray that throughout Central Taiwan, true love, joy, and peace from Christ will invade the hearts of those seeking a new life in Him. Pray for new believers to have determination to follow the Lord in the new life He has given them. Pray for faith to increase as believers witness and encounter the supernatural power of God in their world as they turn from temple and ancestor worship to worshiping Christ alone.
Although Saaida speaks French very well in conversation, she still needs help with writing and grammar. Thankfully, she is involved in a French literacy class. Originally from North Africa, she has been living in France and attending the class for years now at a local church. She knows much about the stories of the Bible and Jesus, but it remains just head knowledge. The truth about who Jesus is has not pierced her heart and soul yet. She is a loving, encouraging, and positive person but is also lonely. Her husband and sister passed away years ago, leaving her alone. One reason that she enjoys the French class is the connection with others and the community and love she has found there. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open Saaida's spiritual eyes so that she will follow Jesus as her Savior and Lord. Pray that she will no longer experience the sting of loneliness because God loves her and is with her. As she works hard to grow in her French language ability, pray that the Spirit will use the Bible stories to transform her spiritually. May the love that believers show her point her to salvation in Jesus.
"Jo Porter, my fellow missionary explorer, and I are heading off to begin our research," missionary explorer Gabriela Garcia said. "Right now, we have one contact of someone who might be able to help. We have been assigned a geographical area and will be researching as many people groups as we can within the next 6-12 weeks! Please pray for us. 'I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth' (1 Corinthians 3:6-7)."
http://www.imb.org/project-3000/The Costa Rica Mobilization Team writes: "Pray for the continued development of our team of translators in Costa Rica. Ask God to provide more people with a heart to serve the Lord and participate in a Go Experience team in the area of Spanish/English translation. Pray that God will use this as an opportunity for discipleship and that He will provide people with availability to serve with us on an ongoing basis."
Times of great advanced technology that we enjoy can bring blessings and challenges. People can be glued to their devices. At the same time, we can be connected digitally as never before, like you reading this amazing testimony from Southeast Asia! As a follower of Jesus, Atih continues to grow in her love for God through the fellowship of Red Letter Worship in the English Village. Atih has a passion for reaching young people in her nation through social media. A self-taught video editor who records videos in her small efficiency apartment, she makes and posts short, relevant content with biblical truth and encouragement. The videos have tens of thousands of views. God in His sovereignty is using these connections to reach people with the good news. Other local believers also share this burden of reaching many through social media platforms. Young people in this country are large consumers of social media. Pray that the content will draw in seekers with genuine questions. Pray for local believers among the Coffee People who are being trained to answer inquiries from viewers. We see God at work in digital engagement and desire to join Him!
http://pray4digital.com/coffeepeoplePastor Kutenda of Zimbabwe reports that the rains came late, but in the city of Kwekwe in central Zimbabwe, the rains have been good and the people are hopeful for a good harvest after two years of drought. "We are praying for showers of blessings in our church this year, as well. Our focus is on evangelism and planting another church. We are also praying that God will raise up more church planters and faithful church leaders in Zimbabwe." Please join in lifting those needs before the throne. "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us" (1 John 5:14 ESV).
http://www.imb.org/sub-saharan-africa/(BEE-ja) - "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (Romans 10:15 ESV). Near-culture Christians share life and the truth of the gospel with a Beja family in a small village. Before these "beautiful feet" came into this village, God seemed to this family to be only a frightening, distant deity, dispensing mercy on a whim. "Will my good deeds outweigh my bad deeds in the end?" each person asks. As the days pass, more life-on-life and Bible stories are shared as well as teachings about God and His Son, Jesus. With each new story and concept, more family members, extended family members, and even neighbors hear the beauty and love of the gospel. Interest increases. Pray for whole clans to hear, believe, repent, and confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!
