Pray for volunteers who will be coming to Tanzania in February. They will be teaching the Bachelor of Theology students at Tanzania Baptist Theological Seminary in Arusha and sharing the gospel message in the community. Ask God to give them extra strength and perseverance as they prepare to teach. Lift them up as they gather all the necessary documents and visas needed to enter the country. Pray for the logistics of their visit. Ask God to make their visit beneficial to them and to the students. Pray for the students as they learn under this guest professor and others. Began interceding now for those who will hear the gospel message presented during their visit. Ask God to prepare their hearts to receive Christ and to begin their new life of following Him. Pray for follow-up and discipleship efforts with those who commit their lives to Christ.
(TAH-jeeks) - Pray for Tajiks who have received and are reading portions of the Word in their language. As they compare the Word with the book of their religion, ask the Holy Spirit to open their eyes and enable them to discern truth from lies so they may understand and believe that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the email@example.com
The Gujaratis of Uganda are an unengaged, unreached people group numbering approximately 27,000. They speak Gujarati and practice Hinduism. They were brought to Uganda in the late 1800s as laborers. These days, they are successful businessmen. They remain a tight-knit community and are often hard to reach with the gospel because of their success. Please pray that the Lord will give them a heart of flesh instead of a heart of stone. "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules" (Ezekiel 36:26-27 ESV).www.imb.org/adoptauupg
"Brother Ken we have a problem," a team member told a Thai pastor. "Too many pastors and church leaders want to come to the Baptist Pastor's Camp." Team members and Thai pastors partnered to provide a conference for countryside pastors and church leaders. They expected maybe 50 to attend, but there were 120 participants! God was gloried in their worship. Thai pastors with arms raised high sang with full voice while tears rolled down their faces. The days were long with hours of preaching, training, and sharing testimony, yet pastors said they wanted more. They want something similar that all their church members could attend next year. On the final day, team members and Thai pastors from one area spread out a large map of the province to determine where they want to partner to spread the gospel into new areas. Praise God for this encouragement for Thai pastors. Pray for the development of a training that seminary staff will take to countryside pastors throughout northern Thailand province next year.
In the heart of an unfamiliar city, one believing family faithfully worships together at home as they seek a church family to join. There are none in the area that speak their heart language, so they have visited congregations in the new language they are attempting to learn. While those who attend such churches are polite, they seem unfamiliar and uncomfortable with extending warm welcomes to others very different from themselves. Pray that this family will find an inviting community in which they can continue to grow in their faith as well as gain many new brothers and sisters!
(MAHL-teez) - Ask that during this new year, the locals and foreigners who live in Malta and Gozo will reset their priorities and seek Christ first. Lift up believers and pray for an effort to see more small groups in different languages as well as a new church plant in the south of the island. Also pray for a fresh start for the many small evangelical fellowships to pray and cooperate together for the glory of God. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV).firstname.lastname@example.org
(mah-LONG) - Malong communities gather in January for traditional family reunions and seek good luck for the new year. Two Malong women have new life in Jesus Christ. They discovered the truth of the gospel in a Bible study with workers and testified to their decision in baptism. Local believers are giving praise and asking you to pray for these two Malong women as they continue to study the Word and share the gospel with their family at this year's reunion.
(BWAY-noce AHY-rehs) - "Aren't all the gods of all the religions just different expressions of the same god? Won't all the people who worship, no matter the religion, end up in heaven?" The Buenos Aires Global City Team writes: "These are just a couple of the questions that teenagers in the northern region of Buenos Aires have asked over the past several months during our discussions about Christianity and faith. Many teens had already written off Christianity as an outdated and irrelevant religion without really exploring it. These classes have provided a safe space for teens to ask questions while also learning about the foundational beliefs of Christianity. But that's not all! They've also been an encouragement for those who are believers. One student told us, 'Thank you so much for teaching this class! I'm a Christian, but I'm scared to stand up for what I believe because I worry that my friends will say that I'm intolerant. Now I'm more confident in my faith.' Please pray for young Argentine teens. Pray that those who are already believers will grow in their faith and boldly share their faith with their peers. Pray that those who don't yet know Christ will trust in Him."email@example.com
(EH-muh-rah-tee) - "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" (Romans 10:14 ESV). Many Emirati Arabs have not heard the good news. They have met no believers. Pray that they will accept invitations into the homes of believing neighbors or invite them to their homes. Ask that they will be impressed by co-workers at their jobs who are good and honest, those who love the Lord. Pray that the Emirati Arabs will have deep conversations with them and desire to know more about Jesus.
(BAH-soo-too) - Lesotho is a country that is home to the Basotho people, who are deeply steeped in their traditions and culture. Please intercede for the believers in Lesotho, asking that the culture of Jesus will transcend all other traditions. While there are aspects of their culture that can be honored and valued, may they be unfettered from any cultural traditions that inhibit their worship or obedience to Jesus. Ask God to bless the Basotho believers with bold faith and the courage to step into their primary and true identity as Christ followers, and pray that they will influence their culture and community with the hope they have in Him. "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1 ESV).firstname.lastname@example.org
