Kareem has been studying the Bible online for the past year. During this time, he decided to follow Jesus. His teacher invited him to come to a retreat on the coast. There, Kareem was able to meet other North African believers for the first time. He was able to worship the Lord in his mother tongue and decided to follow the Lord in believer's baptism. Pray for him as he goes back home to be the light in his community.
In the past 20 years, literally millions of people from Central America and South America have left their home countries to find a better life in Spain. There are currently more than 3 million there, the majority of whom live in the major cities like Madrid and Barcelona. Many Latin Americans are already believers and have integrated into Spanish churches. Others are open to the hearing the gospel and having spiritual conversations. Especially in Madrid, believers are working to reach the lost, discipling other believers, and equipping the called. With the right training, resources, and tools, Latin American believers can be a missional force impacting people from a multitude of people groups residing throughout Spain and other parts of Europe. Please pray for them to have a significant impact on these people groups for the kingdom of God.
God is working in response to your prayers, so thank you for praying. Recently moved workers to a city among an unreached people group (UPG) had the first and special Easter worship service for the community. One woman became a believer in response to hearing the gospel. Please join us in praising God for this new believer! Prior to attending the Easter service, God was working in her heart and mind when attending evangelistic cooking classes. Please pray for the new believer to follow through with baptism and for her to grow spiritually. There were others who heard the gospel during the worship service, please pray for their salvation, including two daughters of the new believer. And please pray for the evangelistic cooking class to be an avenue for many to hear the gospel.
(kuh-MY) - Please pray for Lina, a Cambodian sister in the Lord who is suffering from depression and trauma a second time. She is in her thirties and works as a social worker. Years ago, she recovered from a low period in her life and used that life experience as a way to minister to others. However, something has recently triggered a relapse of depression. Please pray for mature believers and the church family to have wisdom and to be supportive to her deep needs. She needs intercessions, specifically for emotional and spiritual healing. She represents the great need there for professional Christian counseling, a resource that is very limited in Cambodia. Please pray that this will be an area that many Cambodian Christians can be trained in and equipped to help others.
The summer will be starting out big, as so many spring camps are already being held! Many youth and children are attending camps and learning Bible stories and crafts and music. Believing camp counselors are working hard to accommodate all the different religious preferences to which each group ascribes, including various kosher food requirements. Prayer is needed for the facilities, the counselors, the cooks, and the sports. Most of all, pray for the youth who attend to have a great educational and fun experience and come back for the summer and fall holiday camps and possibly become counselors themselves one day. Many believing adults now describe their wonderful experience in the camps when young as being very influential in the wonderful change in their lives that occurred later.
For some time now, a family of IMB representatives in Hungary have been building relationships with staff and students at a school in their neighborhood. During the first week of July, they and their partners will provide an English camp for local kids. They will share the love of Christ along with language skills and a lot of fun and laughter. Families in Hungary will be making decisions this month about summer activities, so pray that their plans will include being in town for the camp. Ask the Lord to bring those who have registered, and that the lives of the children, teachers, and families will be impacted by the gospel.
http://www.heartforhungary.com/As laws are changing regarding immigration, there is a lot of confusion among people moving through Mexico. These people are in a state of constant change, not knowing whom they can trust. Some have been robbed or abused during this journey. Many are now open to hearing the message of salvation that comes only from the Savior. Please pray for the Mexican churches who have been trained to share the good news. Pray that they will be loving and bold. Pray that discipleship will also happen through the journey.
robinjmex@gmail.comIn the City of Salt and Light, a relatively small city in East Asia, though older people have Buddhist beliefs, most younger people are brought up believing there is no God. The city lives in the shadow of the provincial capital, and parents and their children often desire to move there or to another big city that offers more opportunities. Materialism is important to them, and when asked about this, they say that they trust in themselves and feel there is no need for God. The Bible and other materials are available in their language, but those sharing the gospel are few. Please pray for the salvation of the people of the City of Salt and Light.
pray4APAC@imb.org(chit-TAH-gong) - A group of believers are planning to visit the city of Chittagong. They hope to meet local people in various settings and share stories about their life and the lives of people recorded in the Bible. Please pray for the logistics of their trip and for the people they will meet.
(chee-ang MY) - It was Palm Sunday, and Baptist representative, Ashlyn, asked the children sitting in Sunday school if they knew what Easter was about. The unknowing eyes looked back at her as she explained the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The children's parents, who are first-generation believers, yearn to see their children learn and understand the truth but don't feel qualified to teach them the Bible. In Sunday school, Ashlyn is working with parents and is modeling how they can teach God's Word in their families. Resurrection Sunday has come and gone, and now the children have heard the truth that Jesus personally loves them so much that He died on the cross to pay for their sins, and they can have eternal life because the grave is now empty. Pray for the Word to be taught boldly to this next generation and that they will receive this salvation that is offered to them by the Lord.
Please pray for a family who is looking to move from a city to a more rural location. The new location is a place with no known believers, and they would like to begin reaching the people there with the gospel for the first time. Please pray for wisdom and direction as the family seeks a new home and place of ministry. Please ask for favor with the new neighbors. Pray for many new opportunities to share the gospel with those who have never heard.
centralasianpeoples@protonmail.com(KAYP town) - Cape Town is a city of 5 million people. About 2 million of them live in informal structures located in townships. Asylum seekers and refugees live in these low-income communities. Multiple families occupy one shack or apartment, with each family to one room. The cost to rent a room in an apartment can range from $350 to $500 per month. Most refugees, by law, cannot work because they aren't given official asylum seeker and refugee status due to a fear that they will take jobs that South Africans can do. This year, more displaced people are being deported back to their home countries, places from which they fled because of fear of persecution by the ruling political party, warring tribes, and rebels. These asylum seekers want a better life and have hopes of finding it in the most democratic nation on the African continent. Please pray for these desperate people to find a safe haven in which to live and a better life than what they left behind. Ask God to show them that He is their shelter and wants to be their Lord and Savior. Pray that they will come to believe in Jesus as their Savior.
