Sub-Saharan African Peoples
Windhoek, Namibia

(VIN-took) - There are small children in the streets of Windhoek moving between the cars and stopping at every driver's window to ask for food or money. With the skyrocketing food prices, Windhoek's poor are hungrier than ever before. The women with their babies on their backs have a desperate look in their eyes as they plead with their hands held out to all the people who are passing by. Violent crime has increased and so has the number of abandoned children. Team Namibia writes: "We are God's hands and feet but need His resources and His wisdom to know how best to alleviate any suffering amid these overwhelming circumstances. Will you pray with us that God will make a way for us to share His love in a practical way with all of these hurting people?"

Sparrow People of the Horn of Africa

For many years, work has been done to translate Scripture into the language of the Sparrow People. Only a small part of the Old Testament has been completed, but the entire New Testament translation is finished, and the Sparrow believers are excited about having it in their own tongue. Thank the Lord that the New Testament has been printed and the Sparrow believers will be able to read the Scripture in their heart language! However, for a variety of reasons, they still have not received copies of the New Testament. Word has come that the New Testaments may arrive in the near future, but things may change and there may be more holdups. Please pray that there won't be any more delays and that the books will be distributed to the Sparrow People. Pray that the believers will be encouraged to worship the Lord in their language and witness to the lost using the Sparrow Bible. Claim Isaiah 55:11, asking that God's Word will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish that which He purposes and will succeed in the thing for which He sent it.

Sorani Kurds of Central Asia

(sor-AH-nee) - In an Islamic culture like that of the Sorani Kurds, people often enjoy hearing the stories and principles that Christians hold sacred as the inspired Word of God even if those stories and principles are contrary to their beliefs. Many will say, "A person who practices any religion is better than a person who practices no religion." Rebecca is a Sorani Kurd who has heard many Bible stories, including the gospel, and she can even retell many of them in detail. While she enjoys learning stories from God's Word, her heart has not been changed by them, as she still holds to Islam. Pray for Rebecca and many Sorani Kurds like her who are open to and interested in having a head knowledge of the gospel. Pray that the Father will use His Word and believers' faithful efforts to communicate the good news to change hearts. Ask the Father to open the eyes of Sorani Kurds and to shorten the distance from their heads to their hearts.

Refugees in South Korea

In order to reach refugees with the gospel and meet their practical needs, a missionary with a desire to bake bread began attending a bakery school. Last December, as you lifted them up in prayer, God provided a facility where she and some classmates, some of whom are refugees, could practice baking and do what was necessary to be certified. In March, they were able to begin selling their delicious bread at a local Christian café. Through this, these refugees are gaining valuable work experience and are receiving training in basic business skills. Please continue to ask God to provide wisdom and guidance for this missionary and other missionaries who are doing the training. Intercede for good relationships and for opportunities to share the gospel. Pray for the refugees to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, to mature in their faith, and to adjust well to the society around them.

Peoples of Western Arabia

Many people in western Arabia struggle to understand their value or worth. With suicide rates soaring across the world, pray for those in western Arabia struggling with suicidal thoughts and depression. One particular new follower of Jesus named Hadi has been told by his father his entire life that he is worthless. When Hadi walks into the presence of his father, his father rolls his eyes. With persecution and feelings of worthlessness, Hadi has recently become discouraged. Pray that this new follower of Jesus will know that the Lord created him with a purpose and plan. Even when he struggles with depression or suicide, pray that Hadi will be reminded that "the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words" (Romans 8:26 ESV). May Hadi and many others in western Arabia be reminded that they are deeply loved, known, and heard.

(OH-sah-kah) - "Thank you for praying in the spring for those who participated in an online biblical counseling conference and were considering taking the next steps needed to become certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)," writes the Osaka City Team. "Here is an exciting update: Many of the participants have signed up for further training in biblical counseling through small groups! Forty-three Japanese speakers have signed up and have been organized into 10 small groups, and 25 English speakers have been organized into six small groups. They will observe real counseling sessions through online videoconferencing and then submit comments. This is the next step toward getting certified as ACBC Biblical Counselors. Give thanks to God that despite the border closings due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all the challenges that hindered onsite sessions being given, 68 people here in Japan are moving toward certification! Continue to pray for all the leaders, for any potential technical challenges, and for each participant. The workshops are being held once a month from September 2022 to February 2023."

Muslim Sindhis of South Asia

(SIN-dees) - Providing healthcare during the recent flood was especially difficult for the Maternity Hospital in the Sindh province of Pakistan. They still have many repairs that need to be made due to leaking and flooding. Because of the flood water, it has been difficult to maintain a sanitary environment. Pray that the hospital will be able to stay sanitary as the floodwater subsides, that the repairs will be able to be made soon, and that the staff will be able to mitigate flood-related health risks for their patients.

(kwah-luh LUM-pur) - In an area of the city where there are many factories, a lot of the workers come from Myanmar. There are a few believers among these Burmese workers, and there are some who have a Christian background but have fallen away from the faith. Pray that amid their busy schedules, the believers can be gathered to be encouraged and to be trained to form a church in their area.

Global Health Strategies Network

"It's that time of year when institutions are making budgets and developing plans for next year's work and ministry. Healthcare institutions and ministries on the field are no different. We are hearing from clinics and hospitals and their leadership, and they are asking for prayer as they look to 2023 and seek guidance from the Father concerning how their missional efforts should continue into the next year and beyond. Will you join us in praying for these ministries?"

Sub-Saharan African Peoples
Conakry, Guinea

(KON-ah-kree) - "Conakry is a city of roughly 2.5 million people, of which 50% of the adult population is between the ages of 18-29. These young men and women are seeking to better themselves, whether through attending college or learning English or simply expanding their understanding of things to which their parents' minds may be closed. In fact, we have seen an openness to discussing spiritual matters among this age group that we don't always see among the older generation. Beginning this month, our team will begin evangelism efforts at one of the largest universities in Conakry, with a focus on reaching this young generation with the truth of the gospel. Would you pray with us that those seeking to know truth will be involved in our English conversation groups? Would you pray with us that we'll be able to connect with believers on campus who are seeking to dive deeper into God's Word and with whom we can then work alongside to reach other students on campus?"
