There is an increasing crisis of child abandonment among tribal people groups and other local people in one city. Please pray that this will lead to a faithful response from the church. May children be cared for, loved, and even legally adopted into Jesus-believing homes. Pray that addictions and wicked superstitions will end among families. Intercede for just and honest judicial processes for all involved.
(JAH-vuh) - "Heavenly Father, please ignite a fire in your Church body. Use your Church to reach the Javanese people. For those who know you deeply, inspire a lifestyle of abiding in Jesus. Foster a culture of repentance, unity, and spirit-filled boldness within your people. Amen."
(car-NAH-tuh-kuh) - In the Coffee Corridor region and the coastal area of South Karnataka, India, dwell many tribal people groups that are unengaged and unreached with the gospel. A handful of these groups have not been located and are not known by pastors in these areas. Over the next couple of months, some believers will be heading out to these areas with the goal of locating these people groups. Pray for direction as they go, and ask the Lord to open the way to these peoples, as some of these groups are protected by the authorities. Pray that they will be able to have conversation with these groups and be able to share the gospel with them.
Pray alongside a missionary in Eastern Taiwan: "Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. From beginning to end, You are God. Teach us to realize the brevity of life so that we may grow in wisdom. Satisfy us every morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Let us, Your servants, see You work again; let our children see Your glory. Please show us Your approval and make our efforts successful. You are the eternal God, who was, and is and is to come. Please use us to teach those in East Taiwan about the fleetingness of this life and the hope of the gospel. I pray that they will receive this good news with joy. As believers there rejoice in You, show them Your power. As they serve You, as they reflect Your glory here, please bring success to their efforts (Psalm 90:12, 14, 16-17)."
The Taiwan Baptist Mission and Chinese Baptist Convention of Taiwan will jointly hold a 3-day mission conference in central Taiwan next week. The focus will be on international and domestic missions and unreached people groups (UPGs) throughout Asia. This includes the Hakka people and Taiwan's 13 migrant UPGs from all over Asia. Pray for churches, pastors, and missionaries who attend to have a burden and a united vision to reach the lost. Pray for churches to lead out in sending missionaries. Pray that churches throughout Taiwan will grow in excitement to send and participate in missions. May God's kingdom expand exponentially this year!
Since the 13th century, Jewish people have been living in Switzerland. There have been tragic years and social struggles, but life now for the population of 18,000 Swiss Jews is stable and flourishing. They have established communities mostly in the major cities of Switzerland and speak many languages, including Swiss German, French, Hebrew, and Eastern Yiddish. While not all Swiss Jews are religious, most follow the teachings of the Torah (the law) and the prophets, and most are unengaged with the gospel. In Judaism, attaining favor with God is achieved by obeying the laws found in the Scriptures. While they believe in the God of the Old Testament, their eyes have not yet been opened to Jesus, the Messiah, in the New Testament. Pray that Jewish people living in Switzerland will realize that their good works can never make them right with God. Pray that they will have spiritual eyes to see and discerning ears to hear and believe Romans 3:21-22 (ESV): "But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it--the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe."
www.imb.org/adoptauupg(LIH-bee-un) - You can probably spot athletes or farmers or doctors pretty easily when they are dressed in their typical attire. The same can be said for just about anyone. Some type of evaluation will be made based on what you are wearing. For Libyan Arabs, this holds especially true. Their dress is conservative, with women usually having their heads covered, long pants or skirts covering their legs and ankles, as well as long shirts, coats, or sweaters, leaving the least amount of skin showing as possible. When traveling, Libyan Arabs will see all kinds of people in different dress than what they are accustomed to seeing. As they notice the differences in dress and customs, pray that more than difference in attire, they will notice a difference in the love shown by those who believe in Jesus. Ask that they will see the Son when they look at believers and that rather than being put off by what they see, they will be drawn to the Light inside the believers. Also pray for the believers they encounter to share boldly and for the Libyan Arabs to have open hearts. Pray for those who believe to be bold in taking the gospel back home.
(KAH-zahks) - In these days of the internet, smartphones, and computers, many Kazakhs are discovering the gospel through apps, social media, and websites. There are also many apps dedicated to helping believers grow. Please pray for the continuing development of apps, social media, and videos that will reach many people for Christ.
(EH-kwuh TOR-ee-ul GIH-nee) - Approximately 25% of the population of Equatorial Guinea consists of individuals between 15 and 30 years of age. Pray that those who are followers of Jesus will heed the admonition of the apostle Paul to the young man whom he was discipling, Timothy: "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12 ESV). Pray that these young Christians will exhibit good works before fellow believers and before nonbelievers in a way that gives glory to God.
http://www.imb.org/sub-saharan-africa/Insufficient finances, marital strife, infertility, broken trust, wayward children, lack of adequate food and housing--these are examples of the many issues digital responders are addressing as individuals reply to a social media ad and ask to be prayed for. Doing this virtually adds to the challenge of communicating effectively, but significant conversations are taking place and lives are being impacted by gospel truth as responders share how a relationship with Jesus is foundational to navigating any of life's issues. Pray for the responders to have compassion, godly wisdom, spiritual discernment, and biblical insight as they interact digitally with individuals who are seeking help. Rejoice that they can trust that Jesus will draw people to Himself as they share with others about Him!
