(VIN-took) - "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one" (2 Thessalonians 3:3 ESV). Give thanks to God for how He faithfully protects and strengthens the believers in Namibia who are daily facing opposition in their families, at work, and at school. Their Christian values often clash with what is culturally practiced, and this can lead to them experiencing hostility and shame from others. But God is faithful! He is grounding new believers in His Word, protecting and encouraging them to stand firm, and using them to target lostness in Namibia.

Tuareg of the Sahara Desert

(TWAR-eg) - It had been almost a decade since Turban and his believing friend, Ernest, had seen each other in person. They had kept in touch online over the years and always talked about, hopefully, getting to see each other soon. Then things fell into place, as Ernest was in the same city as Turban for the first time in a long time. Turban and Ernest spent an afternoon together, catching up on all that had been going on with their families and lives since they had last spoken. As they talked, Turban seemed softer. He was not quick to change the subject when the Father was mentioned and was more willing to listen to spiritual things. After several hours of reconnecting like cousins who would only see each other once a year, Ernest said goodbye to his friend. Please pray for Turban's heart to be softened and for Ernest to have more opportunities to share the gospel with him. Also ask that they will be able to see each other in person again soon.

(pun-JAH-bees) - A local believer has been sharing weekly in a neighborhood in the capital region. There, she has led two women, Deepa and Laxmi, to faith. These women are eagerly learning about Jesus and sharing with their neighbors. They have shared with another woman, Sita, who has a very difficult marriage, and Puja, whose daughter has an undiagnosed sickness. Please ask the Lord to show His power and love to these women living in poverty and hardship. Also pray that the Father will bring their husbands to believe, as well.

"Our house church leader went to a spiritual retreat recently and was greatly encouraged. He came home ready and passionate to serve the Lord. But when he arrived back to his village, he found that he'd lost his job. Then he found out his wife had left him and taken their son. She went back to her first husband, who is Muslim, and she has no interest in reconciliation. This is clearly the work of the enemy, and it worked. This house church leader is a shambles now and barely able to keep himself together, let alone a church. Our team is working hard to encourage him and to speak truth to his wife. Pray that this brother will be strengthened in his faith, that his marriage can be reconciled, and that the church will become stronger because of this instead of falling apart."

Northern African and Middle Eastern Unengaged Peoples

The Mima people live primarily in western Sudan and eastern Chad. The Mima of Sudan are nomadic herdsman. They traditionally have moved from place to place, settling where they can find adequate grazing land and water for their herds. Long-lasting conflict in Sudan is affecting the livelihood of this population of 160,000 people. Many have been attacked, while others have joined the attackers. Where can they settle and find peace? There are few believers among the Mima people. Few of the people have heard of God's everlasting peace. Pray for them, in the middle of the horrific conflict, to hear the good news that God loves them and has a perfect plan for them to know peace with Him. Pray for them to have dreams and visions of Jesus calling them to Himself, and ask for near-culture believers to reach out to them. Pray for them to trust in God. "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you" (Isaiah 26:3 ESV).

Muslims of China

For decades, Hui people were unable to travel to Hainan Island to vacation either because they couldn't afford it or were unable to receive permission. At that time, the Huihui, also known as the Utsat, longed to meet and fellowship with their fellow Muslims from the mainland. However, as the economy grew, and Hui tourists began traveling to Hainan Island, the Huihui were not impressed because most of the Muslim tourists were not as devout. They were not going to the mosque five times a day, and their clothing was not as conservative. Instead, the only thing that identified many as Muslim was that they did not eat pork. Pray for Muslims in China to hear the gospel and confess Jesus as God's Son who died and rose again to save them from their sins and give them new spiritual life. Whether a person is Hui or HuiHui, they both need Jesus.

(mahm-BAH-suh) - "October marks the addition of a new worker! As our group of workers grows and welcomes this young woman, join us in asking the Lord for unity that is beyond our own strength. We know that the world will know us by our fruit, and we are seeking to be a group united in purpose, loving each other well with a Christ-centered love that displays the Lord's goodness to those we encounter. As the Lord continues to multiply our workers, pray with us also that He will also multiply the fruits of our labor and that we will see many people come to Christ and gain new partnerships for the furthering of kingdom work."

(foo-LAH-nee) - In past months, you have been asked to pray for Alan, who is an evangelist to the Fulani in a rural area. Recently, Alan reported that two men had put their faith in Christ. Praise the Lord! Please pray for these new believers. Ask that through Alan's teaching and the work of the Holy Spirit, they will grow in their faith and in understanding. Pray for them to be bold witnesses to their families. Pray for many more Fulani to put their faith in Christ.
