South Asian Unengaged Peoples

The Kummara, Kummari number about 298,000 and consist of a segment of Telugu speakers living in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, along the borders of Andhra Pradesh, and they suffix the titles "Chettiar" and "Naidu" to their names. The women wear white saris with red trim on their marriage day, and the men wear a white "dhoti" (loincloth), shawl, and turban. They are potters by trade, and both the men and women work in that trade, with the men using the wheel and the women making stoves and lamps by hand and helping their husbands dry the earthenware and applying red paint to it. Pray that these people will hear and understand Isaiah's words: "But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand" (Isaiah 64:8 ESV). Ask that these Hindu people will understand that the Father loved them enough to send His only Son, Jesus, to earth to walk among people, be crucified, die, be buried, then come back again to life so that, for those who believe, His death would make a way to restore man's relationship with God.

Pregnancy Center Project, Chiang Mai, Thailand

(chee-ang MY) - Daphne was born last April. When she was one day old, a Pregnancy Care Team came to meet her and her mom, Violet. She is now a happy, healthy baby who is being raised by her grandma, Violet's mom. Violet was only 15 when she gave birth and had a hard first couple of months adjusting to being a teen mom. A few months ago, she chose to leave Daphne with her mother and live in the mountains with her boyfriend. Violet's sister, who is also a teen mom, says Violet is stubborn and rebellious. Last month, when Violet was in town visiting Daphne, she joined a lesson her Care Team was teaching about the temptation of Jesus. That day the whole house came to hear the lesson – great grandma, grandma, both teen moms, one boyfriend, a little brother, and the two babies. Surprisingly the great grandma, who usually distracts from the lesson, made sure everyone was listening! One of the Care Team members said she could see that Violet was convicted when they shared that Satan is out to destroy us, even today, through sin that is so tempting. Please pray for this precious family. Pray that the Holy Spirit will draw them to Himself and that all will come to faith!

Peoples of the Hadothi Region of India

(HAH-doh-tee) - Please pray for the more than 6 million people living in the Hadothi region of southeastern Rajasthan, India. There is currently no known church-planting work being carried out in this region. Ask God to send laborers to take the gospel to the Hadothi people. Pray for Him to be working in hearts and lives, calling people to Himself, and pray for the good news to flow through this region so that "those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand" (Romans 15:21 ESV).

People of Pearl Island, Southeast Asia

"Every week, our team of three local believers and one family from another country goes out into the world to try and push back the darkness. The only thing Satan has to do to keep lost people lost here is to keep the saved people quiet. Pray that our team will remain unified in mission and love for one another. Pray that we will practice gentle and biblical conflict management and that we will love each other well. In the face of lots of spiritual warfare, pray that we will remain focused on the task of reaching Pearl Island with the gospel of Jesus."

Sub-Saharan African Peoples
Nairobi, Kenya

(ny-ROH-bee) - On a recent Sunday morning in Nairobi, a church plant drew the nations in its doors. An Ethiopian man, a Kenyan man, and a Tanzanian woman all came to the church. They repented of their sins and believed in Jesus. The nations came through the gate of the new church plant--praise God for their salvation!

Mountain People of the Horn of Africa

Most Mountain People are currently living in areas where there is instability. Living conditions and daily routines are somewhat normal for a few weeks, and then there is political unrest and violence. This cycle repeats itself over and over, causing many Mountain People to become cynical, numb, and mentally and emotionally exhausted. Even believers are struggling. Despite these struggles, give thanks to the Lord that believers recently had an opportunity to invest in unbelievers by helping with some physical needs. Many of these unbelievers are grateful for the help, but they do not have ears to hear the good news because they are worried and distracted about the condition of their region. Please pray that the Mountain People who are living in darkness will know that they are loved by the Father, who desires a relationship with them through Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to open and soften their hearts to hear and respond to the good news. Pray that God will use both the words and the deeds of believers to show the lost what it means to be loved by Him.

Central Asian Peoples

The Southern Border People are a small and relatively unknown people group. In one corner of a little valley along a river, only around 2,000 people in a couple of villages still speak their language. Their houses, villages, and culture look almost identical to those of peoples around them. They farm wheat, grow what vegetables they can from irrigation in the river valley they call home, and send many of their young people off to work abroad. Very little work has been done to directly offer them the gospel or translate the good news into their small heart language. Please pray for the Southern Border People to respond to what they've heard, and ask that more believers will be able to access them and share clearly with them about Jesus. Pray for the handful of believers, mostly living outside the valley, to be bold in their witness and share widely among their people. Ask God to raise up evangelists who will proclaim the good news, and pray that a church will be planted among them in the valley. (If your church would like to commit to praying for these people on a regular basis, please connect with workers by sending an email indicating that.)

Afar of Northern Africa

(AH-far) - "I am the Muslim wife of a believer in Jesus. I have seen the good things that God has done in his life through Jesus, and I have heard of God's salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. I had been reading and listening to God's Word with my husband regularly, but the Islamic itinerant teachers came by my house and told me that if I had anything to do with Jesus, I would go straight to hell. Then my father, a leader in the mosque, threatened me. I want to believe, but I am afraid of what will happen to me and my children if I follow Jesus. Pray that God will give me a faith that overcomes my fear." "I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4 ESV).
