Afar of Northern Africa

(AH-far) – “My name is Hamaama. I first saw a film about Jesus when I went to a friend’s house. She had downloaded it from the internet. We watched it together and were both excited about the things we saw and learned. I had many questions. Another friend of mine had seen the film several times. I watched it with her, frequently stopping the film to ask questions. She was not a believer but had seen the film so many times that she could explain difficult parts. Eventually, I found another woman who was a follower of Jesus, and she shared the gospel clearly with me. At that point, I, too, became a believer.” Pray for other urban Afar women to access the gospel through media on the internet and their network of friends. Ask God to help believing women to be available to answer any questions related to media in which the gospel is clearly shared. “Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel” (Proverbs 27:9 ESV).
