(ahn-GEE-kah) – One of the largest tribal groups living in the area of the Angika-speaking people is the Santal, which is made up of more than 8 million people and is classified as “reached.” Gospel work has been going on among the Santal for over 100 years through the efforts of cross-cultural harvest workers from Europe in the early 1900s. The Santal believers have a big vision to see their people reached and to see a church planted in every Santal village. However, they face difficulty in crossing caste lines because of the language and cultural differences. Pray that God will continue to use them to reach their Santal brothers and sisters. Pray, also, that the Santal will be convicted and convinced by the Holy Spirit that Jesus desires to save all people. May they have boldness to go to neighboring unreached people groups.
