An urban pastor recently shared his sadness that a woman who had offered her home as a meeting place for a “preaching point” (new work) has decided to use it for a business instead and will no longer allow the 30-plus participants to hold services there. In discussing other options for a meeting place, he said that everyone else who attends lives in a home far too small for 30-plus people, there is no school in that community, there are no churches, and there are no open areas where they can congregate. Currently, there are not enough leaders for the participants to break up into smaller groups. This is not an uncommon problem in cities where urban sprawl has birthed communities with no planning and no infrastructure. Pray for followers of Jesus to find creative solutions to issues like these. Pray for the development of trained leaders who can help in such situations.
