Arabian Shores City

The Islamic month of Ramadan is observed differently in the Arabian Shores City than it is elsewhere. Restaurants, cafes, and other establishments remain open. By way of contrast, in many other countries, such places are closed until after the evening prayer time, when individuals are allowed to break their fast and eat. It is also not against the law to be seen eating or drinking in public during the day, unlike in other countries, where such actions are prohibited. Islamic teachings emphasize the importance of making one’s fasting known to others, believing that this encourages others to fast and earns the individual more credit in the afterlife. However, Jesus teaches that fasting should be done in secret, making it a personal matter between the individual and God. The people of the Arabian Shores City need to learn about Jesus and establish a relationship with Him, enabling them to fast for the right reasons: to deepen their connection with God and strengthen their relationship with Him. Please pray that during Ramadan, the people of the Arabian Shores City will have opportunities to learn about Jesus, come to believe in Him, and subsequently practice fasting in secret to grow closer to God.
