Workers write: “We used to live in the foothills of a mountain range, and I never grew tired of gazing on the beauty of the mountains surrounding our city. Our favorite mountain reminded me of Mount Sinai — a place where God reached down because He desired relationship with His people, but the people so often missed Him. Recently, we moved to a megacity where millions upon millions live, work, worship, and search for meaning. Across the Asia-Pacific Rim, megacities rise higher each year, glittering with lights and life. My home looks over the cityscape, and I’m captivated again by the view — especially at night — but I’m also reminded of the deep spiritual lostness represented in both mountains and cities. The greatest problem in our world is lostness, being without Christ and separated from God. While poverty, disease, and conflict are real, they are temporary. Lostness lasts forever. The solution is the gospel. Knowing that the God of the mountain is the same God who walks city streets, will you pray for the lost of both the mountains and the cities, asking that one day, they will know Him?”
