Baptist representatives write: “We praise God for our two Nehemiah Teams (NT) serving in Dumanjug, Cebu, Philippines this summer. The first team — four Americans and two Filipino translators — lives in the community and uses basketball to share the gospel. Each day they visit homes in the community, sharing the good news, gathering prayer requests, offering Bible studies, and praying with families. In the afternoons, they host basketball games, and during halftime, a team member shares their testimony and invites others to learn more about Jesus. The second team, also four Americans and two Filipino translators, serves through agriculture. They work on a farm in the morning and late afternoon, doing tasks like tilling soil and caring for animals. During the hottest hours, they also visit homes in the community and share about how Jesus has changed their lives. While in Dumanjug, team members live simply — washing clothes by hand, cooking over open fires, and growing in their faith. They return home with renewed passion and confidence to share the gospel.”
