Walid is a refugee from a war-torn country who came to a city in another country in the region in hopes of finding a better place to raise his family. What he found was only disappointment and shattered dreams, discovering that he couldn’t legally obtain a work permit as a refugee. Walid was later introduced to a believer and asked the believer for help. The believer was able to provide him with some odd jobs to help him get back to the family he’d left behind. As the two were working together one day, Walid asked the believer a question he’d been pondering about why there are so many problems in the world. The believer was then able to share the truth and hope of the gospel with Walid. Pray that Walid will come to see that true peace can come only through Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and God in the flesh (John 1:14).
