For several months, you have been asked to pray for Bassel, a believer who had been imprisoned and persecuted for his faith. His mother found out about his faith but said that she wasn’t interested in following Jesus. Recently, however, she confided in her son that she had a spiritual dream. In the dream, she was reading and reciting the Quran. Every time she read a verse in this book that Muslims consider holy and God-given, a demon would appear before her. In Islamic thought, the reading of the Quran is supposed to drive away demons, not cause them to appear! So, after hearing about his mother’s dream, Bassel told her that the reason the demons were appearing is because the Quran is not from God. Give thanks to God for giving Bassel the boldness to share his faith in his family and beyond! Pray that just like some of his friends have already believed, more of his friends and family members will follow suit by boldly believing in, following, and proclaiming Jesus — just as Bassel has.
