Austrians of Austria

“With the start of German language course in March came a new student from Hungary–Tobais,” a Baptist representative in Austria shared. “Tobais grew up in a nominally Christian, moral household. He’s not against Christianity; he just likes to think deeply about different topics. The day after language school, he asked to read the Bible with me. A few days later, our meeting went well, but we didn’t get a chance to open the Bible. Instead, we talked about politics and philosophies. I also got to share the gospel with him and call him to respond. He had never heard the gospel clearly explained before. He had some major doctrinal misconceptions, namely that people must earn their righteousness before God. When I asked him if he wanted to surrender his life to Christ, he said he feels he needs to find the right church or branch of Christianity first. However, he still wants to meet up more to actually read and study the Bible together. He said he is most intrigued by the Eastern Orthodox doctrines and traditions. Please pray for Tobais to come to a right understanding of who Jesus is and saving faith in him.”
