Azeris of Azerbaijan and Georgia

(ah-ZER-ees) – The Azeri people celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year, on the first day of spring as one of their most important holidays of the year. On each Tuesday during the month leading up to Nowruz, they celebrate the day of fire, the day of water, the day of land, and the day of wind. They celebrate water as it purifies, and fire, land, and wind as each of those awakens nature and brings spring. Please pray for the Azeris as they gather to celebrate Nowruz, asking that they will find new life through the Living Water, Jesus. As believers share the good news during this time, ask God to change the hearts of Azeri people, and pray that they will put their faith in the God of the Bible.
