(ah-ZEYR-ees) – For Persians, the new year begins in spring and is celebrated with a holiday called Nowruz, which means “New Day.” This year, Nowruz falls on March 21. Since schools and offices are closed for the two-week holiday, many Persians (including Azeris) take this opportunity to travel. Pray that as they travel outside of their home country, they will meet Christians who are ready and willing to tell them about Jesus. Intercede especially for those who are already curious and seeking God. Ask that God will orchestrate encounters for them with authentic followers of Jesus. Pray that He will give many the faith to believe and receive new life in Christ.
