(ah-ZEYR-ees) – The Azeris make up about 20% of the population of Iran. As a minority, they often face significant discrimination. Media and publications in their heart language have been shut down by authorities. There has been ongoing suppression of public celebrations of their language and culture. As they endure these struggles for their identity, pray that they will hear the truth of God’s Word and believe the gospel. Ask that they will put their faith in Christ and find their most important identity as children of God. Please also pray that Persian believers will be obedient to God’s call to take the gospel to the Azeri and other minority groups around them with the love of God.
