(BANG-kok) – “In the aftermath of the earthquake that shook Myanmar and Thailand, people in Bangkok remain scared, cynical, and hopeless,” IMB team members said. “Our team has noticed greater push back and turn off to the gospel in some instances as Thais have questioned, ‘Where was your God in the earthquake?’ At the same time, we have seen through digital engagement many individuals privately reaching out with questions such as, ‘Why did this happen?’ and seeking comfort and peace from the fear and uncertainty they have been facing. Please pray for wisdom, both for our team and local churches, as we look to speak the truth in a time where people are uncertain and afraid. Pray that their hearts would be opened to the gospel and not hardened by the events that took place in March.”
