Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, the Islamic month of Ramadan fasting leads to a festival time of celebrating, sharing food with one another, giving gifts, dressing up, and visiting relatives and friends. However, it’s a sad time for some Bangladeshis. Pray for Bangladeshi Muslim-background believers who have chosen to give up their family and the security of their community to follow Christ. Some aren’t allowed to go home, some have death threats made against them, and some have not yet informed their families of their newfound belief. Pray that new believers who cannot return home will find comfort in a new community of believers in Christ. Ask that those who do travel out to share the gospel or go home for the holiday will “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might” and “put on the whole armor of God, that [they] may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:10-11 ESV). Please pray Ephesians 6:10-20 (the armor of God) for these brothers and sisters who face opposition daily for choosing to follow Jesus. Give thanks to God for those in hard places who count Him worthy enough to forsake all else just to follow Him!
