(ben-GAH-lee) – Irene is training a new local harvest worker, Timothy, who is sharing with a group from the Barelvi movement sect, which is mystical/folk/Sufi Islam. He said that they are uneducated and are used to listening to their imam (religious leader) and following Sharia (Islamic law). Using the “Roman Road” evangelism tool, Timothy explained to them that it’s not possible to follow the law and that the only way for salvation is to believe in Jesus, who has fulfilled the law on their behalf. Some have since left their practice of “namaz” (Muslim daily prayers) and have been believers in Jesus for six months. Timothy says that he will baptize them when the time is right. Pray for these new believers to demonstrate boldness and immediate obedience. Pray that Timothy will be able to identify someone who is teachable and able to teach others among these seemingly uneducated believers. Ask that he will make plans to return often to disciple them well. Pray that Irene will have wisdom as she teaches and encourages Timothy.
