(ben-GAH-lee) – Please continue praying for Irene, a local harvest worker who’s training Timothy. When they returned to the fellowship of Muslim-background believers to teach about baptism, they learned that the leader’s son, John, had been baptized! However, the others were all fasting the Muslim way during the Islamic month of Ramadan except the leader, Wes. Irene learned that his family thought that Wes’ body was too weak to fast because he’d never explained to them why he’d left his former rituals. Irene had gospel conversations with an “auntie” and her son who weren’t clear on the gospel, so she’ll return to this fellowship to go over the gospel again. She also learned that Wes is sharing the gospel by distributing tracts, not by a verbal witness. One believer stated that he’d only heard about Jesus the last two times that Irene had come. Pray that Wes will learn that “faith comes by hearing” (Romans 10:17 NKJV) and that he’ll be bold to share the good news. Pray that Irene can guide this family and fellowship toward developing a healthy pattern of discipleship so they can learn God’s Word on their own. Pray for Irene to have wisdom as she disciples the leader and his fellowship.
