(ben-GAH-lee) – In the past, whenever Irene, a local harvest worker, approached pastors with the vision of sharing the gospel with their Muslim neighbors, they had many reasons for not doing so. They wanted, instead, to focus on the Hindu neighbors around them. But now, some believers are afraid of sharing with their Hindu neighbors due to increased persecution by authorities. Therefore, sharing the gospel with Muslims might be more fruitful at this time, as there is a commonality between Christians and Muslims since both are facing persecution. And with fewer opportunities for hosting large holiday events to share the gospel due to persecution, evangelism will primarily be done quietly, two by two. Pray for Irene as she trains and encourages pastors and churches to obey the Great Commission in their neighborhoods despite the risk of persecution. Ask for new co-laborers to join her, especially more Muslim-focused partners. Pray for the local churches to see the harvest around them and want to join in the reaping!
