Bhojpuri of South Asia

(bohj-POOR-ee) – The Christmas season is always a special time when believers in South Asia celebrate the Savior’s birth. It is also a time when many Hindus are more open to hearing about Jesus. The past few years, however, the large Christmas programs in many places have been scaled back because of persecution. As the churches still desire to use this special season as an opportunity for outreach, many have had smaller celebrations in the homes of believers, often inviting neighbors of other faiths to partake in the celebration of Jesus’ birth together. As post-Christmas follow-up begins, please pray for soft hearts that are ready to receive the gospel. Also pray for the believers to have the boldness to continue to reach out to their communities with the hope and peace that come only from Jesus!
