About 100 miles from London, in the West Midlands region of England lies Birmingham. It is the second largest city in the country and boasts a population of 1.38 million people. It is a vibrant, diverse, and young city–the youngest in Europe. Nearly 40% of the population is under the age of 25. There are more than 400 schools, 15 universities, and three colleges within one hour’s drive of the city. It is the largest city for higher education outside of London. While worldly knowledge has grown, biblical knowledge has declined. In 2019, the fastest-growing “religion” in Birmingham was no religion at all, making up nearly one-third of the population and showing a 57% increase in seven years.
