“When our son was young, a volunteer came to Botswana several times to share Jesus with the people of Botswana,” writes a missionary. “During those visits, he took time to invest in our son and built a meaningful friendship with him. Our son often called him his ‘best friend’ despite their 15-year age difference. Our paths crossed again while we were stateside, speaking at his church, and although much time has passed and our son now stands eye to eye with him, our son still remembers clearly the kindness, attention, and care he received as a young missionary kid. Please pray for the volunteers who come to serve, asking that God will use them not only to share the gospel, but also to invest intentionally in the lives of missionary families and their children. Pray that the Lord will raise up more people who are willing to serve in this way, and ask that He will continue to use those relationships to encourage and strengthen hearts for years to come.”
