(KAYP town) – “Missionaries David and Haley Miles and their children have been working in NextGen (next generation) ministry with at-risk youth in the township of Westlake, located in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. Six months ago, they were joined by two journeymen, Brooke Newby and Taryn Burks, who have been a wonderful addition to the ministry. Weekly ministries include three different Sunday groups for children’s church, youth literacy and Bible clubs during the week in the township’s primary school, a rock climbing club, and discipleship/mentoring. The Miles family and these journeymen are connected to different local churches, and each congregation has shown different levels of interest in the ministry to these precious children. The hope and goal is for South Africans to come alongside and ultimately become the leaders of ministry to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40 ESV), reaching the nations right in their backyard. Please pray for support and partnership from local church families, not only financially when needed, but also by their presence and leadership in and to the Westlake community. Also pray for the older youth from Westlake who know Jesus and are His followers to step into leadership of their own community.”
