Central Asian Unengaged Peoples

The Yazidi Kurds are a religious minority originating from northern Iraq, where they faced persecution and genocide. The earliest Yazidi Kurdish refugees, around 20,000 of them, fled from Turkey in the 1990s. Many Yazidi Kurds went to Germany, which is now home to the largest Yazidi Kurdish diaspora community in the world, estimated to be around 100,000 people. The Yazidi Kurds in Germany have maintained their culture and faith, which is based on a unique blend of ancient Mesopotamian and Abrahamic traditions. They also participate in the political and social life of Germany, with some Yazidi Kurds becoming prominent figures in human rights activism, academia, and politics. As the younger generation learns the German language, pray that they will be exposed to the gospel through interaction with German Christians and churches. Ask that Yazidi Kurds will find healing in Christ. Pray for courage for Yazidi Kurds who are seeking truth to be willing to accept a New Testament and read it.
