“Recently we experienced being in the thick, oppressive middle of a Buddhist stronghold,” workers shared. “Even though we had been in Buddhist temples before, this experience was like no other we ever had. Imagine an entire nation, an entire people enslaved to false and vain beliefs that give no true hope. See them in your mind, walking in circles around an immense altar to Buddha, turning prayer wheels, burning offerings of incense, lifting up prayers to an idol that has ears, but cannot hear, practicing rituals their whole life with no hope. I was burdened for Buddhists everywhere who need to know the truth that can set them free — Jesus. I was reminded of the many times we have entered stores owned by Chinese Buddhists in Spain, where as soon as we say we are followers of Jesus, they kick us out, unwilling to even hear what we had to say. Please pray that we as believers see these people with compassion and faithfully pray for them. Pray that the Holy Spirit will tear down their spiritual strongholds of evil and deception and grant opportunities and creative ways to share Jesus — the way, the truth, and the life — with them.”
