Commerce City in Northern Africa

This month, Ramadan begins in many countries around the world. It is a monthlong Islamic holiday in which Muslims fast from sunup to sundown each day. They do this because they believe that it will earn them favor with God and eventually get them to heaven. The entire culture in Commerce City changes during Ramadan. Many people sleep later in the day and stay up all night to eat. It especially hard for believers in the city because everyone around them is fasting and celebrating. It is a very lonely and isolating time for them. Pray for unity within the local church during these days. Ask for local believers to be encouraged, as they may face persecution. Pray for boldness to share with their family and friends during this time.
