Conakry, Guinea

(KON-ah-kree) – The population of Guinea is less than 1% evangelical Christian, and the need to have more leaders among the small number of believers is a large one that workers in Guinea are trying hard to overcome. In the capital city of Conakry, less than 100 adults attend one of the two local Baptist churches, and only a few leaders are equipped and ready to pass on to others what they are learning. Thank you for praying for the Bible workshop that took place in Conakry in January. Tristan, a worker, led 10 men and women through the Book of Philippians, and each of these participants walked away with a plan of accountability in place. They worked hard to study and understand the Book of Philippians and then they left with a plan in place for passing on to others what they had learned. Pray for these men and women, asking that they will faithfully follow through with their plan so that the work can be multiplied. Pray for there to be a hunger and thirst for the Word of God among the believers, and ask that their desire to hold true to God’s Word will outweigh any desire to follow the culture.
