Safiya has been displaced from her hometown for 10 years. Following turmoil, her city has stabilized, but she has no home to return to. Her family doesn’t often interact with the people group among whom they live. Many of their host people group harbor bitterness towards the Crossroads Arabs, as they have experienced persecution and oppression at their hands. Safiya experienced this bitterness when she arrived at a local hospital in labor. The hospital staff treated her poorly, refused to speak in her language, and, told her, whenever she asked for help, to “go to the end of the line.” After being denied care for hours, she decided to leave and go to a hospital in her hometown, where she delivered a healthy baby girl. Pray that believers among the Crossroads Arabs, as well as their host people group, will be led by the Spirit to forgive, love, and share the gospel with those they consider their enemies. Pray that when their lost enemies experience this love and kindness, they will be drawn to Jesus, who forgives all our sins, saves, and heals. Ask the Lord to break down barriers between the Crossroads Arabs and other people groups through the gospel.
