Urgent prayer for Cuba is needed. It has experienced the fourth nationwide electrical power grid failure in three days, as Hurricane Oscar hit eastern Cuba this week. There are already severe shortages of food and petroleum. Schools have been canceled, and non-urgent businesses have been closed through Thursday. The few people who own generators have run out of gasoline. News outlets are reporting some protests in the streets, with people banging pots and pans, as the authorities are announcing that no disruptions will be tolerated. Early morning reports from eastern Cuba say that there are many homes and churches without roofs and people without drinking water. Pray for the electrical grid to stabilize, and ask that the people of God will shine the light of the gospel during these very difficult days.
