(dah-KAR) – Please pray for unity in heart and spirit between a group of workers who are in a new area of work and a local church from a different area but one that wants to partner with the workers in church-planting efforts. Pray that a biblical model of partnering will be understood and accepted, one that conforms to the description/prescription found in “The Baptist Faith and Message,” which is based on Scripture: “A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel . . .” In Acts 14:23 (ESV), it says that Paul and Barnabas “appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.” Pray that this ecclesiastical model will be trusted and entrusted to the Lord. Pray for wisdom for the workers and the church leaders in the tasks and interrelationships of church planting.
