Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

“This country has once again come into the international spotlight due to another outbreak of Ebola. Please pray for the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, an area near the Uganda and the Rwanda borders that’s far from where our Congo Team serves. Ebola is not an airborne disease like COVID-19; instead, it’s spread by contact with bodily fluids. Therefore, the biggest danger comes to those in homes, villages, and care facilities who are caring for the sick. The disease is often spread before the cause is known, but the sick do not seek care right away because they can’t afford it or it is not available to them. It is often said, ‘Why would I go to the clinic? That is where people go to die; I don’t want to die.’ And they are not wrong because, in general, people do not seek help until it’s too late and whatever sickness they have has overcome them. Pray for the thousands of internally displaced people (IDPs) in the affected areas of eastern DRC. These people are highly vulnerable and are unable to comply with health recommendations due to a lack of clean water or hygienic living conditions.”
