Pastor Tomas remembered his days as a struggling alcoholic and the kindness of a godly man who led him to Christ and sobriety. In 2016, he and a friend started a Christian rehabilitation center so others could have that same opportunity. Men from all walks of life came looking for help and were given the chance to find the answer in Jesus. In 2021, Tomas realized that these men also needed a way to support themselves. Through a Send Relief community development grant, he designed a next-step welding program to give rehabilitants a chance to learn a trade. Marko was one such man. With Tomas’ help, he left the streets, found the Source of hope and sobriety, and discovered that he was a gifted welder. Work, however, was scarce. Tomas prayed that the project would take root as a business, provide work for his men, and cover center expenses — a prayer recently answered when Samar, another grant recipient, connected with Tomas to provide work for men like Marko and cover the welding needs of other Christian projects in the country. Praise God, whose goodness has ordered the steps of each man (Psalm 37:23), supplying all they need in Jesus: sobriety, work, and hope!
