Global City: Sao Paulo, Brazil

(soun POW-loo) – In Vila Carrao, the neighborhood that’s located in the East Zone of Sao Paulo, there is an Okinawa Association building to host various kinds of weekly activities for adults, seniors, and children. They offer classes such as Okinawan traditional dance, Japanese and Okinawan language classes, and Okinawan traditional instruments classes. Every week, many Okinawan people gather in the building to participate in these cultural activities to interact with their own people and also to preserve their identity as Okinawan descendants. Gatherings such as these provide a wonderful way to connect and build long-term relationships with Okinawans who are unreached people in need of the gospel. Please pray for the opening of opportunities to share the gospel through building good relationships with the Okinawan people.
