Hakka People of East Asia

(HAHK-uh) – Pray for the many Indonesian Chinese brides who came to Taiwan about 20 years ago. A high percentage of them are Hakka women. Many attended church in Indonesia when they were young and were baptized, but after marrying into Taiwan families, they were often pressured to worship ancestors and abandon their faith. Please pray for these sisters, asking the Lord to bless their family lives and work in Taiwan as well as call them back to faithfulness. Pray that they would have strength to not only to establish roots in Hakka communities but also to integrate locally, becoming missionaries who share the gospel with Hakka people in Taiwan. Pray for the many Taiwan Hakka towns, villages, and communities, such as Dzudong in Hsinchu, Guanxi in Taoyuan, Dzunan in Miaoli, Guoxing in Nantou, Meinong in Kaohsiung, and Dongshr in Taichung to be transformed by the gospel.
