Last fall, you were asked to pray for a girls’ dormitory that was being started by a believing couple to provide safe housing for high school girls from a small, rural town in the Horn of Africa. There’s no local high school, so the hope was that the girls could attend school in a nearby town and stay in the dormitory during the weekdays to attend school. God answered your prayers, and about a dozen girls who otherwise would have had no opportunity to further their education were able to start high school. Praise God that all these girls heard the gospel, and several believed and regularly studied the Word together! Pray for these girls’ families to come to saving faith in Jesus. When whole families believe, they are strong together, but a young believer without the support of her family becomes vulnerable to persecution. Pray that these girls and their families will become the foundation for a strong, healthy church in their hometown. Ask the Lord to provide all the resources needed to continue this safe haven for another year and allow it to grow by adding another dozen students.
