(hir-un-SHE-muh) – Hiroshima is the largest city in Hiroshima Prefecture with a population of 2.1 million people. The prefecture is located in western Japan on Honshu Island. Service industries such as government administration, finance, and wholesale trade occupy a considerable share (over 72%) of the city’s economy. One of Hiroshima’s best-known agricultural products is its variety of oysters. The city’s history includes the explosion of an atomic bomb in 1945, and numerous cults exist in the area to try and take advantage of people whose hearts seek peace. Gospel workers in Hiroshima are scarce. One unique recent statistic shows that dads in Hiroshima spend significantly more time raising a child than the average Japanese dad. This could be a good opportunity to reach out to the whole family with the gospel. Please pray for the salvation of the people of Hiroshima.pray4APAC@imb.org
