The Feast of Weeks (also known in Hebrew as Shavuot and in the Book of Acts as Pentecost) is traditionally a time for Israeli Jews to gather to celebrate the harvest of the first fruits of spring and the giving of the Law of Moses. Jesus is the fulfillment of both: He fulfilled the Law of Moses, and He is the first fruits of the resurrection (Jeremiah 31:33 and 1 Corinthians 15:20-23). This Feast of Weeks found its fulfillment in Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit was poured out and thousands of Jews put their faith in Jesus, the Messiah. Please pray for the many millions of Jews who still need an encounter with Jesus. Ask that hearts will be responsive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and that many souls will be added to the body of Christ. Pray for the believers in the country, asking that they will be empowered by the Holy Spirit and share the good news of the resurrected Messiah who seeks to gather His lost sheep “as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings” (Matthew 23:37 NKJV).
