Jula of Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Mali

(JOO-luh) – “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the herald, who proclaims peace, who brings news of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’ The voices of your watchmen–they lift up their voices, shouting for joy together; for every eye will see when the LORD returns to Zion. . . . The LORD has displayed his holy arm in the sight of all the nations; all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God” (Isaiah 52:7-10 CSB). These verses highlight the feet that are deemed beautiful because of the good news they carry. Pray that there will be a messenger among the Jula during this Advent season who boldly displays, in both words and actions, that “our God reigns! As of yet, all is not fully restored in the world. Every day, the Jula wake up to feet delivering more bad news: reports of destruction and violence in a war-torn country. Pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken hearts among the Jula to the news that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the only one who can comfort their hearts and give them true, abiding hope.
