(kuh-MY) – Mak Lina is a widowed grandmother in her eighties. She used to have a shelf of idols made of metals and stones. She also had amulets to ward off evil spirits. She often used the spiritual powers of demons for healing or protection for herself as well as others. Her granddaughter became a Christian many years ago and boldly witnessed to her. Mak Lina was resistant until one day her idols failed her. She had an injured knee that would not heal. Finally, her granddaughter prayed in the name of Christ Jesus, and a couple of days later Mak Lina was healed. This softened her heart to be open, but she still did not want to surrender her idols out of fear and uncertainty. There were many who witnessed to her. Finally, the Lord pierced her heart, and she became a believer about 3 years ago. Recently, God cultivated her heart to reach others. She has reconnected with a childhood friend and invited her to Christian gatherings with the hope that her friend will one day accept and follow Christ! Give thanks for God’s promptings and pray that Mak Lina’s friend will receive the salvation of Jesus.
