Khmer of Western Cambodia

(kuh-MY) – Khmer New Year this year falls on April 14-16. It is a major national holiday based on the solar calendar and significantly marks the end of their harvest season and the time right before the rainy season begins. The 3-day celebration includes cultural traditions of village festivities, family reunions, and Buddhist rituals, such as washing Buddha statues and bringing special food offerings to the monks at temples. Please pray for Cambodian Christians to not compromise their faith in Christ Jesus when faced with pressures to participate in unbiblical activities. Also pray that they will seek opportunities and will be led by the Holy Spirit to boldly witness to their family and friends during these times of reunion.
