Khmer of Western Cambodia

(kuh-MY) – Tavy is a Khmer 18-year-old college freshman majoring in English. He became a believer and was baptized two years ago. He is growing strong in the faith as he continues to learn, trust and obey Christ. He gets choked up and teary-eyed when he hears testimonies or when he ponders on God’s Word, especially when it comes to the topic of God’s love. He testifies that he did not grow up in a household of love, and the reality of God’s love makes him grateful. His family suffered domestic violence at the hand of his father. He said that as a little boy he often felt like running away but feared that it would only leave his mother unprotected. He recalls feeling that he would rather be dead than alive enduring the pain. He and his mother are safe now and have been since his parents separated a long while ago, but his healing and restoration have just begun to unfold since coming to Christ. Praise God and thank the Lord for His healing power of restoration in Tavy! Please pray that the Lord would use Tavy to be a witness and servant of Christ’s love and hope to his family, friends and many others!
