(mah-POO-too) – Talking with a pastor in an area hit hard by the recent destruction of supermarkets in that place, the heart of Joe, a Mozambican home missionary, felt burdened as he heard about the devastation. Brothers and sisters in the area are without a way to get food except from people who are withholding it in their neighborhoods or by making a journey into the city. Another church in the city is able to help church members through generous giving and identifying, with discernment, whom to help. Pray for believers to be generous with what God has provided and to be a blessing to others in their families and neighborhoods. This recent devastation has come about because of ongoing political unrest after the October 2024 elections. Pray for believers to be compassionate and not to miss gospel-sharing opportunities during this time. May they see how God has prepared and is preparing people to hear and believe. And pray for churches to be the light and hope of Christ amid days of uncertainty.
