In a city devastated by a natural disaster just a few years ago, God is bringing fruit out of the soil of its inhabitants’ broken hearts. Hundreds of people flock to the small local church weekly for Bible studies, evangelistic meetings, and Sunday services. The vast majority of these people are unbelievers, and yet they are drawn to the love shown by the pastor, his wife, and the few local believers who serve there. In their hour of great need, Christians were the ones who helped, who donated, who stuck with them through the hardship and grief, so now their hearts are soft to the name and gospel of Jesus. Seeds that were sown through relief work, food distributions, and counseling workshops are starting to sprout. Slowly, people are coming to place their faith in Jesus. Dozens are now preparing to be baptized. Please pray for the people of this city to turn to Jesus in their great grief and need. Pray for the pastor and his wife, as well as the other believers serving in that congregation, to have strength and wisdom as they minister to this city. Pray for the new believers to be solidly rooted in their faith.
