Dilara has worked hard from the time she was a little girl, working on her father’s farm while her brothers went to school, until today, cleaning houses to pay for her son’s tutors. She laughs and says that she doesn’t know how much longer she can continue at this pace. Her knees are giving her problems from kneeling to hand wipe floors, and she feels more tired every day. She and her husband are part of a minority Central Asian people group, and are looked down on by the majority. They have attended church for holiday events and have heard the gospel multiple times, but their hearts are hard. Dilara doesn’t see herself as a sinner. Rather, she constantly complains of mistreatment by her employers and of her hard work being taken for granted and insists that she herself is a good person. In a culture where mistreatment of workers is common, no doubt she has a difficult time. But the evil one uses this to keep Dilara blind to her own need for forgiveness in Jesus Christ. Please pray for Dilara and her husband’s eyes to be opened to their need and for them to believe the gospel they have heard.
