Missionary Explorers, Project 3000

Missionary explorer Tommy Jay writes: “After finishing a seven-week missions training in the U.S., three teammates and I went through an outdoor training in the mountains this past weekend where we hiked 25 miles from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. We learned some helpful terrain and mapping skills along the way that will prove helpful when researching Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPGs) overseas. We all pulled together despite the bad weather, and it was a joy to see everyone serving each other amidst the wind, rain, and cold. One night, we slept under a lean-to and used tarps and bungee cords to construct a roof to keep the rain and wind off us as best we could. It worked well enough, and we were able to get a few hours of sleep before waking up early to break camp and try to stay ahead of an incoming storm. Once we finished it was so nice to eat a hot meal and drink water that wasn’t filtered from a river! Please pray for us as we continue in this work God has called us to.”
